In 2006, the multi-faith, multi-cultural television network, Vision TV retained Govan Brown to outfit their 18,000 square foot studio and office space. The space that Vision TV selected, located in Toronto’s trendy King West neighborhood, was a beautifully restored old, post and beam timber building which presented its own set of unique challenges. The key to completing this project on schedule relied upon our ability to effectively  identify  and obtain long-lead items during the pre-construction phase of the project. Furthermore,

the pre-construction phase allowed for our team to properly devise a schedule that would accommodate all the trades that would eventually be working on a con-densed construction site simultaneously. By being heavily involved in the pre-construction phase, our team was able to avoid future discrepancies by identifying potential conflicts. Another challenge for our team was the use of space and design. The project required specific awareness to  sightlines  and acoustics. We were able to effectively build offices

without compromising the efficiency of the studio’s specific design intentions. Govan Brown has had the privilege of working with many of Canada’s most important organiza-tions over the years. We are always thrilled to be able to turn over a project to an organization that greatly contributes to the positive cultural-capital of Canadians.
