Since its inception in the early 1950’s, Kasian Architecture has grown into an international design firm. Due to the company’s rapid growth, it was necessary for them to relocate in order to accommodate the large influx of employees. They chose a location in Toronto’s trendy Liberty Village as the new home for their offices. Included in the construction was an adherence to LEED Silver standards, a tight budget and an aggressive schedule. In partnership with the base-building staff and consultants, Govan Brown was able to complete the project to the satisfaction of our

client. Perhaps most vital to the success of this project was our ability to maintain LEED Silver status. In fact, over 75% of the materials used in building the Kasian space were regionally manufactured. Other successes include spectacular time management and organization. Due to the implementation of polished concrete floors, which are often very time consuming, it was necessary that our construction team coordinated well with the base building  staff and  other consultants  involved  with the  project. In order to properly coordinate the delivery of material and man power,

Govan Brown held daily site meetings in order to streamline the construction process and to ensure that everyone was on the same page. The Kasian project is an archetypal example of Govan Brown’s ability to manage time and man power. Our ability to delegate efficiently is a large contributing factor to our success in building complex projects on time.
