In the past, CI Financial has retained Govan Brown on multiple occasions to execute their construction projects. In 2000, CI Financial enlisted our services to renovate three newly leased floors atop of their already established 151 Yonge Street office. Included in the new project scope, along with the three new floors, was a retrofitting of the existing four floors. In total, the project consisted of seven floors and comprised of 105,000 square feet. The design intent of the entire project was to create a high-end office space with a

uniform aesthetic. The  whole facility was fit-up with custom millwork and large stone components. We also refurbished the older internal staircase while also adding a new feature staircase to service the newly added floors. Impressively, this project was completed while the original floors were still occupied. We avoided causing a disturbance to employees by diligently phasing and scheduling the construction process. In total, the renovation of CI’s seven floors took ten months. Later, after some employees were relo-

cated to 2 Queen St. East, CI leased two more floors in the same tower, occupying an impressive nine floors. We completed the fit up of these two new floors whilst completing the build-out of their 2 Queen St. East offices. CI and Govan Brown have maintained a positive partnership. We have been retained by CI perennially because of our dedication to delivering quality projects. Our partnership continues to strengthen with minor work through our service department.
