In 2007, Cisco Systems retained Govan Brown’s services to build-out their management offices in Ottawa, Ontario. Having been their construction managers in the past, Cisco entrusted us to renovate their 17th floor space. Intended to be a showcase for the high tech company’s innovative technologies, the 10,000 square foot space was transformed into a state-of-the-art office facility. Located in  the  heart  of  downtown Ottawa, the

aggressive Cisco schedule presented us with a number of interesting challenges. First of all, it was necessary to build a space that had a high degree of sound attenuation; no easy feat considering the proximity of the space to neighboring building tenants. Additionally, we were tasked with building state-of-the-art training facilities that required extensive cabling and AV installations. There were also traditional elements that needed to be factored

into the project including open and closed offices; all of whom were designed to follow a similar, modern aesthetic. The Cisco Systems project took seven months to complete and was finished on time and on budget.
