Located in downtown Calgary’s Banker’s Hall Complex is the newly renovated space of CIBC’s Wholesale Banking headquarters. In 2011, they retained Govan Brown to fit-out 3,500 square feet of their current home. Completed in four phases, the project was conducted in a partially occupied area and required extensive coordination and strict scheduling to finish in the allotted three-month timeline. The success of this all-encompassing project relied on our ability to properly sequence our work. The four phase project required our team to demolish old office partitions  and erect temporary  barriers  to  accommodate staff while

also completing the complete fit-out. The renovation had to be comprehensively arranged because the scope was so large. The client desired universal sleek and streamlined aesthetic which took into account all areas of the office. The new reception area, executive office, private boardroom, Vice Chairman’s office, meeting rooms, administrative office and kitchen were all completed with custom espresso cherry wood millwork.Other cosmetic details included the implementation of doors with full height, ornamentally-grooved detailing; marble surrounds for the reception desk; in the kitchen, high-end corian counter tops;

maple hardwood borders in the boardrooms and flat screen monitors throughout the office. We also outfitted the office security system, installing security card readers, CCTV cameras and mag locks. The project’s deadline was determined by the furniture delivery date which could not be changed and we succeeded in completing the project in the three-month span allotted to us.
