In 2009, Telus Health Solutions enlisted the services of Govan Brown to build-out their offices in Kanata, just outside of Ottawa. Comprising of 2 floors and 11,000 square-feet of space, the Telus Health Solutions project required an immense amount of focus and attention to detail. The goal of the project was to complete the standard out-fitting while ensuring no harm was done to the invaluable electrical communications equipment.
The most crucial aspect of this project lay almost entirely in the complex IT server room. Co-designed by two separate mechanical and engineering firms, the IT room needed to be rearranged to suit the requirements of both firms. Furthermore, it was essential for the IT room to be completed prior to the full completion of the rest of the project as new software protocols needed to be installed before the move-in of the staff. Govan
Brown’s construction team worked diligently with both engineers and trades to schedule and identify long-lead items to ensure their procurement prior to installation in order to avoid scheduling conflicts. Govan Brown, in our years of experience, has learnt to deal with multiple trades and diverging intentions. We have developed an ability to arbitrate deviating targets and guide them into a converging design goal.
