As part of a new nationwide rebranding effort, RBC Canada retained the services of Govan Brown to complete the renovations of over 150 branches across the country. Beginning in 2007, the RBC branch fit-outs included a diverse amount of work and scope, ranging from simple paint finishes to complete branch renovations. For the project to be considered a success, all work had to be completed while the banks were still occupied and operational. To avoid disturbing RBC’s employees and customers, we elected to do all of the work in the evenings and weekends.  Afterhours work necessit-

ated coordination with branch management, RBC Tech services, RBC and CBRE management. Furthermore, since Govan Brown has established a nationwide presence, we were able to develop positive relationships with trades and vendors in each of the respective branch locations resulting in high levels of service without added costs.  Additionally, all selected trades were pre-qualified by both the client and ourselves and deemed capable of delivering a level of work that met our quality standards. The entire project was overseen by our Toronto head office and rigorously surveyed

by our team. We ensured that we maintained close contact with all parties involved while also chairing weekly meetings with clients, designers and trades. Our consistent partnership with all project stakeholders aided us in developing and adhering to strict branch and master schedules. The RBC roll-out program represented a huge milestone for Govan Brown as we were able to nationally coordinate and complete over 150 RBC branches in just under two years with Govan Brown personnel across the board.
