To accommodate their growth, Merrill Lynch acquired Govan Brown’s services to build-out their new 3,000 square foot space in Calgary.  The financial giant sought to expand their offices to the vacant area of the floor adjacent to their existing offices. The goal of the construction was to update the office’s facilities while also maintaining a cohesive continuity between old and new areas. Included in the renovation were many aesthetically modern elements. Perhaps most imp-

ressive is the addition of an open trading floor built into the middle of the space. The new trading area was built complete with a remarkable AV system. Other spaces constructed include a front-end board room, senior executive trader’s offices and a staff pantry to accompany the kitchen.  As for aesthetics, glazed partitions were installed in the closed offices and the majority of the millwork was completed using elegant cherry wood paneling. Other features included ceiling-

suspended lights, new air diffusers, data cabling and security cameras. The extensive Merrill Lynch project was completed in three months and within budget. The Merrill Lynch project provided our team with many interesting challenges. We were able to circumvent potential roadblocks and navigate our team to an outstanding result.
