In 2008, GE Real Estate decided to move from their previous space to 200 Front Street West in Toronto and awarded Govan Brown a lump sum tender to build-out their space. The company, which provides debt, equity, commercial mortgage backed security and capital marketing financing for a wide variety of commercial real estate firms, sought construction managers that could realize their vision despite a  compressed

schedule. The project  that  contained  both a  large scope andtight schedule began in February of 2008. Included in the build-out was a substantial amount of millwork. Aware of the important role time played in the construction process, our team frequented the millwork shop several times to ensure that all the necessary pieces would be ready for site installation. The entire project was under full-time supervision and despite

delayed installation of long-cord lighting fixtures and drywall ceilings, we were able to complete the project within the compressed timeframe we were given. As demonstrated by the GE Real Estate project, Govan Brown is a hands-on construction management firm. Aware of both budget and time restraints, we aggressively seek the best results from our vendors and trades for the sake of our clients.
