In 2012, Govan Brown was retained to complete the phased renovation for one of our Financial Client's Yorkville branches. The bank is located in 150 Bloor Street West and occupies the ground and second floor. 150 Bloor Street building is a tower that Govan Brown has plenty of experience in, having recently completed roughly seven projects within its walls in the last ten years. As such, we were well prepared and well acquainted with the neighborhood and the building's landlord. Completed in 3 phases, the Financial Client's

renovation was constructed exclusively at night and on weekends. Included in the scope were renovations to the reception area, workstations, private offices, boardrooms, kitchen and washrooms. A phase was dedicated exclusively to removing the feature staircase and replacing it. In fact, the staircase was the most challenging of all project elements as its new location interfered with existing base-building services. We solved this problem by teaming with the landlord and rerouting the existing services. As for mechanical work,

we updated the existing  HVAC  systems to suit and cater to the new office layout. Completing the new office elements were a myriad of design details including, high-end millwork, glass office fronts, upgraded ceilings and fixtures. The success of the Fianancial Client's project was contingent on our team's ability to effectively schedule and phase work. Furthermore, it was crucial that we maintained a positive relationship with the building's landlord.
