Canadian restaurant chain, Earl’s retained Govan Brown to execute an expansion of their patio space in Mississauga’s Square One Shopping Centre.  The project required that we expand their current patio from a modest area into an exceptional space with highly sophisticated heating and lighting systems. The project began prior  to  patio-season which allowed constru-

ction to flow seamlessly considering the restaurant was occupied at the time.  The scope included the addition of new concrete columns to support the expansion and new millwork screen walls for privacy from shoppers passing by.  The umbrellas were customized for the space  and  heating and  lighting  units were built in the patio umbrellas negating the need for external

heating units.  We were able to avoid interfering with the restaurant’s daily operations thanks to comprehensive dust mitigation and hoarding. Our team managed to complete this project in 3 weeks, just in time for patio season.
