In May of 2013, Govan Brown began construction of two floors for CIBC Wood Gundy in London’s One London Place Tower. The space, comprised of 28,000 square feet, was renovated to comply with the investment branch of the bank’s new streamlined aesthetic.  The overhaul of CIBC Wood Gundy‘s office was completed in two phases over a period of six months with each phase being dedicated to one floor each. Employees were temporarily staged  on other unleased floors during the construction of their

floors. The second floor required extensive work as it housed the majority of the public-use areas including the staff lounge, boardroom and the kitchen. Both floors required full aesthetic renovations and lobby refreshes. Design features include modern elevator surrounds, wall coverings, drywall ceilings, new AV, security systems and the refurbishment of the resident LAN room. Another standout feature is the folding partition that separates the reception area from the main boardroom. The retractable custom-millwork wall con-

nects the two spaces and can be closed for privacy. Upon successful completion of CIBC Wood Gundy’s London office, the same team was retained to complete another CIBC Wood Gundy project for their Ottawa branch. Our relationship with CIBC Wood Gundy is based on a mutual excellence and positive history of collaboration.
