The CIBC project that took place on Portage Avenue in downtown Winnipeg was a unique endeavour that required the experienced foresight of our Govan Brown West team. As an aggressive strategy, a 9 day shutdown period was imposed on the banking location. In this brief amount of time, our team scheduled a total cosmetic revitalization for the 3,500 square foot space. It was decided that the 9 days allotted to our team enough time  to  finish  the  entire renovation and was

preferable to an extended period of occupied construction favouring a quick resolution to a lengthy and potentially cumbersome process. The cosmetic project called for an entire overhaul of the location's finishes; this meant walls, floors and paint had to be repainted, removed and reapplied to meet CIBC's new branding standards. Along with renewing the aesthetic of the main floor which acted as the main branch, we were also tasked with renovating the basement where

lay the support staff and facilities. In the basement, our team renovated the office, boardroom and serveries with a large focus being placed on millwork. This is one of many projects that Govan Brown has had the privilege of collaborating with CIBC. Our professional relationship has been the result of successful communication and a mutual understanding of project goals.
