Govan Brown is currently partnering with Catalyst for a multi-phase project occurring in different Catalyst locations. The focal location of this enormous process is a floor and a half space in downtown Toronto's Bay-Wellington Tower that Govan Brown recently completed. The new Catalyst office space is comprised of half of the 46th floor and the entire 47th floor, totaling approximately 23,007 square feet. Prior to our team's takeover of the space, it had been reverted back to its base-building state by the landlord. It was our team's job to oversee the installation of all the nec-

essary electrical, mechanical, security and HVAC systems required of a first-tier office. After the initial systems were installed, our project team began the application of the office's finishes. The Catalyst space was designed with a high-end aesthetic in mind. Millwork was given a high priority in the layout and proved to be an integral component of the aesthetic; Corian countertops, stone floors and lacquered panels also contributed to the design. Other notable pieces included the large mirrors in the elevator lobby, back painted glass (also in the elevator lobby), and a

reception desk that was cladded with plywood and topped by stone. However, visitors to the space will notice above all the large 99" television in the main boardroom, the first of its kind to be installed in Canada. It was important to our client that the aesthetic of the space reflect the sort of professional atmosphere that the Catalyst Group is known for. We were happy to deliver a product to Catalyst that was formidable in both style and functionality.
